Kevin Foley was born in Melbourne in 1955. He is an experienced art educator & printmaker having studied Fine Art at the Preston Institute of Technology in the late 1970’s and attaining a Dip. Ed. in 1980 from Melbourne State College.
Kevin works in the intaglio method, both mono chromatically and in multiplate colour etchings. He derives inspiration for his prints from what he observes from everyday life on the farm and in the district, the landscape and his flock of Suffolk sheep and his special Border Collie, Scout.
Sometimes humorous, always literal, the objects, animals and landscape continually offer up a feast of challenging opportunities. They allow me to interpret the common place that I encounter throughout my day.
Kevin divides his time between his studio located on a small farm near the central Victorian township of Mia Mia and his other in Melbourne.
